OLD BUSINESS
- Glen reported on the State Coordinator election
conducted by Eastern Region Headquarters.
He expressed disappointment both on his part and Eastern Region
Headquarters that 9 DAs failed to vote.
- Glen appointed a committee consisting of Barb Holovka,
Mike Serino and Scott Leinbach to draft a change to the by-laws updating the
election process of the State Coordinator.
The areas of concern are changing the election process from being
conducted by Eastern Region Headquarters to conducting it ourselves and to
correct the discrepancy that under current by-laws an honorary member is not
permitted a vote at state meetings but is eligible to be elected State
Coordinator.
NEW BUSINESS
- Pennsylvania is
again this year being given the opportunity to send two teams to the East
Region Big League Softball Tournament.
Motion was made by District 14 to bring all teams to the state
tournament to be hosted by Towanda Little League, District 15 and split them
into two pools, east and west geographically, and the winners of each pool
will advance to the East Region Tournament.
Second by District 3. Motion
passed.
- Pool play.
Glen emphasized that the championship game must be played for any pool play
tournaments.
- Also concerning tournament it was emphasized that
tournament team envelopes are not to be sealed but are to be checked by the
tournament director at each level of tournament play above districts.
- Printed packets for state tournament were distributed.
All packets will be posted on the state web site and available for
reading and printing to distribute to teams.
- Motion was made by District 18 that the spring meeting
of the Association will be scheduled to be held on the Saturday following
Easter when Easter occurs in April.
Second by District 14. Motion
passed.
